Fenergo Helps Santander Enhance Customer Onboarding Experience

Fenergo Helps Santander Enhance Customer Onboarding Experience

Client lifecycle management (CLM) software vendor Fenergo has landed a deal with Santander Global Corporate Banking to revamp its client onboarding process, reports Tanya Andreasyan of Banking Technology (Finovate’s sister publication).

Fenergo CLM will be rolled out to Santander’s operations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, across multiple business lines. The first site will be in the UK, the vendor said.

“We selected Fenergo CLM as part of a global internal transformation and re-organisation programme,” explained José Muñoz, global head of operations at Santander Global Corporate Banking.

The programme, he said, is “designed to streamline processes and integrate once disparate systems to create a single source of client data and a seamless and well-orchestrated client onboarding journey”.

Fenergo CEO Marc Murphy demonstrating new customer onboarding and account opening technology at FinovateEurope 2012.

Fenergo said its “enterprise platform” can do just that as it supports “the end-to-end client lifecycle journey from initial client onboarding to KYC/AML and regulatory compliance, to client data/documentation management and regular and event-driven KYC reviews & remediation, all the way through to client off boarding”. It is suitable for corporate, investment, and private banks.

“For us, it’s about making the technology work to generate greater ROI (return on investment) and improved TCO (total cost of ownership),” stated Fenergo CEO Marc Murphy.

The company showcased some stats to support this statement, saying that by automating the CLM process, its technology enables banks to:

  • onboard clients up to 82% faster than a manual process and improve time to revenue by up to 40%;
  • reduce the cost of onboarding by up to 93% and enable banks to onboard double the number of clients;
  • reduce TCO for compliance and KYC reviews by up to 60%.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Fenergo demonstrated its Deal Manager onboarding and account opening solution at FinovateEurope 2012. The company has raised more than $80 million in funding, and includes Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund, Investec, Insight Venture Partners, and Aquiline Capital Partners among its investors.

European Alums Shine in FinTechCity’s FinTech50 2017

European Alums Shine in FinTechCity’s FinTech50 2017

Less than a week before FinDEVr London 2017, we’ve learned that fifteen of the companies selected by FinTechCity for this year’s FinTech50, a list of top European fintechs, are alums of Finovate and FinDEVr conferences. This is up from last year, when 13 alums who made the list. last year’s list. Six of the companies on the 2017 roster are making repeat appearances: BehavioSec, Fenergo, Kantox, Mambu, Meniga, and Revolut.

Eight of the alums in the FinTech50 are headquartered in the U.K., three hail from Germany, two from Switzerland and one each from Ireland and Sweden. The judges for the FinTech50 are a panel consisting of 60 financial services professionals from banking, payments, venture capital, and public policy-making, among other relevant fields.

2017 marks the fifth year that FinTechCity has produced its roster of the most innovative fintech companies headquartered in the U.K. and Europe. The list is designed to focus on the technology innovations each company has developed rather than the amount of money the companies have made from their technologies.  In a statement at the FinTechCity website, the organization explains the sole criteria for inclusion in the FinTech50 as “the potential to become a game-changer or the competitive staying power to continue being one.”

Here are our winning alums for 2017.

Check out the full 2017 roster. FinTechCity also honored ten fintech startups in an honorable mention category, Hot Ten 2017. Ten companies have also been recognized as the founding members of the FinTech50 Hall of Fame, including Finovate/FinDEVr alums Currencycloud, eToro, Klarna, Nutmeg, TransferWise, and Zopa. Founded by Julie Lake (CEO) and Nicky Cotter, FinTechCity will also unveil the inaugural FinTech50 Asia later this year.

Fenergo Brings its Client Lifecycle Management Innovations to ABN AMRO

Fenergo Brings its Client Lifecycle Management Innovations to ABN AMRO

ABN AMRO is the latest bank to choose Client Lifecycle Management solutions from Fenergo. ABN AMRO is the third-largest bank in the Netherlands and will use the technology to support its CDD/KYC processes in specific, and the bank’s broader “business transformation strategy” in general.

ABN AMRO’s Helène Erftemeijer elaborated on the role Fenergo’s technology will play in helping the bank improve the user experience for its clients. “A core part of our business transformation program will involve creating an internal, centralized KYC target operating model that will help us to simultaneously improve the client experience and reduce the cost impact of the regulator KYC activities,” Erftemeijer said. “Fenergo is the technology platform that will underpin this initiative.”

Pictured: Fenergo CEO Mark Murphy demonstrating Deal Manager at FinovateEurope 2012.

The deal with ABN AMRO is the latest in a string of wins for the Dublin-based compliance specialist. Earlier this month Fenergo announced a deal to deploy its Client Lifecycle Management technology with HSBC Group. And in March, the company partnered with BBVA, Spain’s second largest bank and a widely-known, eager adopter of innovative financial technologies. Speaking of the company’s recent successes, Fenergo CEO Mark Murphy explained, “The reason is simple: banks are looking for a trusted technology partner to help them transform their business processes to create a superior client experience, whilst delivering key time, cost, and headcount efficiencies across their data, compliance, and front office operations.”

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Fenergo demonstrated its Deal Manager solution at FinovateEurope 2012. Deal Manager systemizes a number of complex compliance processes, giving financial institutions a greater degree of control, transparency, and efficiency when it comes to onboarding, account opening, KYC, due diligence and related operations. Fenergo’s technology is used by leading investment, corporate, and capital markets FIs such as UBS and BMO Capital Markets.

Fenergo was recognized for the third year in a row in the Chartis RiskTech100, a comprehensive, independent review of the top compliance and risk technology companies in the world. And this spring, the company was named to Planet Compliance’s RegTech Top 100 Power list. Fenergo has raised more than $80 million in total capital, including a $75 million investment in the summer of 2015 from Aquiline Capital Partners and Insight Venture Partners.

Finovate Alums Populate RegTech Top 100 Power List

Finovate Alums Populate RegTech Top 100 Power List

RegTech_image

Call it them the Finovate Fifth.

Nearly 20 of the companies highlighted in Planet Compliance’s new RegTech Top 100 Power list – and five of the top ten – are Finovate and/or FinDEVr alums. To measure “power”, Planet Compliance used an algorithm that measured a company’s activity in the media, as well as online and in social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Wikipedia.

Interestingly, Planet Compliance says it has added a “secret ingredient” to the ranking system. It is also worth noting that their definition of RegTech is broad enough to include not just ID verification/authentications specialists, but biometric security innovators, as well.

So let’s take a look at how Finovate/FinDEVr alums stacked up.
