FinDEVr Live: Spreedly’s Technology Reveals the Modern Vault “Grown Up”

Spreedly_homepage_FinDEVr2015 | | @spreedly

Spreedly_FinDEVr2015_logoSpreedly is an API-based service designed to help marketplaces and platforms securely create a universal credit card token that works across the broadest range of payment endpoints possible.

The vault grows up
Storing credit cards is becoming more and more critical for businesses across the fintech landscape, but so often the choice is between taking on the whole burden of PCI compliance or being locked into a single payments stack. We’ll demo the rapid conversion of a legacy payment form into one backed by Spreedly’s modern vault, and then walk through some powerful use-cases for that data once vaulted.

Key takeaways:

  • How to easily put a modern vault on top of a legacy stack with Spreedly.
  • Once your payment data is in your Spreedly vault, you can transact against it with total flexibility.
  • Using a universal vault like Spreedly enables you to track a credit card across multiple channels.

Presenter: Nathaniel Talbott, CTO
LinkedIn | @ntalbott |

Initially drawn into fintech by client needs when running a software consultancy, Talbott has since built a deep expertise in the ins-and-outs of payments as the CTO of Spreedly. He is passionate about fintech, technical leadership, distributed systems, and building a world-class software organization.

FinDEVr Preview: Spreedly

FinDEVr Previews highlight the companies that will present their latest developer tools, platforms, and integrations at FinDEVr 2015 San Francisco on 6/7 October.

FinDEVr is the premier event for fintech developers. To save your spot, visit our registration page today and take advantage of early-bird savings!

Spreedly provides APIs that minimize the complexity, cost, and risk of PCI compliance and payment integration. With “The Uberization of Mobile,” customers want discovery, purchase, and delivery all handled within an app. It’s no longer necessary to redirect end-users to affiliate sites to complete a purchase with Spreedly’s universal vault product.

Why it’s a must-see
Tokenizing with one gateway removes the burden of PCI compliance, but locks that card into a single gateway. Building your own PCI-compliant vault is a huge undertaking. A card tokenized with Spreedly can be used multiple times against different gateways or API endpoints.

Spreedly Raises $150,000 in New Funding

North Carolina-based payments specialist Spreedly has secured a new investment of $150,000. Information on the investors was not immediately available. The new funding takes the company’s total to more than $2 million.

Spreedly’s “credit card vault in the cloud” technology gives merchants and aggregator platforms the ability to work simultaneously with multiple payment gateways. With its single API and secure credit card tokenization, Spreedly’s solution provides both greater flexibility and control over the payments process.

Spreedly recently reported processing $50 million in credit card transactions in December 2014, the company’s 22nd month since its re-launch to its current incarnation. Spreedly launched a collaboration with PayItSimple in December, as well, helping the Israel-based POS consumer financing company integrate with 70% of U.S. payment gateways. Spreedly currently serves more than 70 gateways in more than 80 countries.
Founded in 2008, Spreedly demoed its technology at FinovateSpring 2014. Justin Benson is CEO.
