2015 was quite a year for the 800+ Finovate alumni. From acquisitions to IPOs, and everything in between, there was plenty to tweet about. Here are the highlights from the 2015 Best of Show winners:

FinovateEurope 2015

Avoka demoed a three-minute loan application that delivers a fast onboarding experience.

• December: named one of the top-50 emerging stars in the KPMG and H2 Ventures global Fintech 100 report
• November: forms partnership with Trulioo to support KYC, AML and ID verification requirements
• October: named Fintech Forward 2015 Company to Watch

CoinJar showed a technology that enables consumers to buy, sell, and use digital and traditional forms of currency any way they choose, from dollars to bitcoins.

• September: launches in Mandarin
• December: introduces bank account deposits using POLi online payment service

ebankIT demoed its omnichannel and social banking solution that maximizes interaction between FIs and clients.

• December: mentioned in KPMG’s H2 Ventures Fintech 100 report as one of the 50 global fintech innovators to watch
• October: receives venture capital investment from Pathena
• May: begins powering mobile app for Millennium Bank in Poland
• April: launches Watch Bank for banking transactions on the Apple Watch

eToro showed its innovations in social trading and investing for generation Y.

• December: launches 100 new assets on social trading platform
• November: launches the “New eToro” to replace OpenBook and WebTrader platforms
• April: introduces real-time stock trading

Jumio demoed credentials-management technology Netverify that turns mobile devices into ID document-scanning terminals.

• December: wins Most Effective Mobile Payment Solution at The Effective Mobile Marketing Awards
• September: Brett King joins advisory board
• March: wins the Anti-Fraud/Security category at the Fintech Innovation Awards

mBank & i3D demoed their interactive, digital retail-branch concept.

• October: Efma ranks mBank first in digital marketing category in global banking competition
• August: reaches 1 million active users
• March: listed among winners of Celent’s model bank competition

Meniga showed off Market Match, its transaction-data analytics and enrichment engine.

• December: recognized as one of the most innovative fintech companies in the world in the report Fintech 100: Leading Global Innovators
• November: partners with Santander
• October: wins award for the best technical solution in the business and commerce category at the World Summit Award

FinovateSpring 2015

Alpha Payments Cloud demoed AlphaHub, its omnichannel access platform that helps banks, merchants, MSPs, and ISOs gain access to any solution provider in the world.

• October: partners with iSignThis as channel partner
• February: wins the world’s best “Global Channel Award” at the Merchant Payment Ecosystem Awards

Money Amigo showed technology that brings financial services to the underbanked and underserved, delivering traditional banking products in an innovative way.

• May: featured on MarketWatch

Moven launched Moven Financial Health Platform that provides real-time contextualized notifications and interactions that create “gamified money moments.”

• December: forgoes username and password for 80% of mobile account interactions
• October: rounds up $12 million in funding for international expansion
• January: goes wearable with Motorola Moto 360 and Samsung Gear

NAMU Systems demoed “Joyful Banking” which uses new and intelligent behavior modeling to focus on customer behavior and digital experiences to create a new standard in mobile banking.

• May: wins “Top Innovation, Best User Experience” in Citi Mobile Challenge
• April: partners with LiveBank to offer a virtual branch solution

Shoeboxed.com showcased its Receipt Capture for Banks, a solution that boosts functionality of online and mobile banking apps while providing fraud protection.

• December: unveils version 6 of its Receipt and Mileage Tracking App for iPhone and iPad
• March: moves headquarters to Google-backed startup-hub American Underground @ Main

Stratos demonstrated its dynamic Stratos Bluetooth-connected card and digital card issuance platform that analyzes card-usage trends and interactively engages card members.

• December: Ciright One purchases Stratos Card
• November: earns spot among finalists in UBS’s “Future of Finance”
• April: Stratos Card begins shipping

FinovateFall 2015

Blockstack.io launched technology that enables financial services and other enterprises to set up and build applications on a private, hosted blockchain.

• October: acquired by Digital Asset
• June: featured in Bitcoin Magazine

Dyme showcased its innovative method for helping people start a savings habit and fund their lifestyle using text messaging.

• November: listed as finalist in BBVA Open Talent Competition

Dynamics demoed fully programmable interfaces (stripe, EMV, NFC) for use in next-generation payment cards.

• May: launches card with MasterCard
• January: listed among 15 Pittsburgh Startups to Watch in 2015

Finanteq launched its SuperWallet that helps banks take full advantage of their potential by integrating m-commerce and remote services with mobile banking.

• May: SuperWallet wins “Best Digital Wallet Solution” in Citi Mobile Challenge
• April: wins ICT Visionary award by European Economic Congress
• March: selected to power Credit Agricole’s mobile banking

Hedgeable: demoed its private banking platform for millennials.

• October: wins fintech category at the U.K. government’s third annual GREAT Tech Awards
• October: releases account-aggregation capability
• May: introduces SMS communication capability

HelloWallet showed its Retirement Explorer solution, an approachable and actionable online planning tool that helps employees model and work toward specific retirement outcomes.

• April: listed as a finalist in the Webby Awards
• March: launched emergency savings calculator

SaleMove demoed its Engagement Platform and Omnicall technologies that enable online consumers to engage live with businesses as if they were face-to-face.

• October: featured in Forbes
• March: Toyota’s Scion to use SaleMove software for virtual showroom

Soundpays showed its app that recognizes ultrasonic and sonic waveforms even in extremely noisy environments.

• July: featured on Business News Network
