CREALOGIX Purchases AI and Machine Learning Tech from Koemei

CREALOGIX Purchases AI and Machine Learning Tech from Koemei

Swiss digital banking company CREALOGIX has bolstered its AI and machine learning capabilities with the acquisition of new technology from Koemei.

CREALOGIX will leverage Koemei’s technology that uses automated speech recognition (ASR) to convert audio, podcast, and video content into text data, which facilitates cross-media search capabilities. The platform is scalable for large, multimedia datasets and uses machine learning to analyze and optimize multimedia content. The University of Geneva has used Koemei’s technology to process 5,000+ hours of lectures, integrating the content with user-friendly text document searches.

To suit its business needs, CREALOGIX is adapting Koemei’s technology to suit the requirements of its customers by offering concept search, content analytics and statistics. Urs Widmer, CEO of Digital Learning at CREALOGIX, said that the new technology “is helping to secure added value and a competitive edge for our customers.”

Founded in 1996, CREALOGIX most recently demoed its Predictive Banking in Virtual Reality solution at FinovateEurope 2017 in London, where it won Best of Show. The company’s Marc Stähli, Head of Sales and CMO, and Eszter Vass, Sr. Product Strategy and Presales Consultant, showed how an immersive VR environment can better engage users to become involved in their personal finances. In July, CREALOGIX was recognized at The Goodacre Systems in the City Awards and last month was recognized by Wealth and Finance International for its digital financial advisory solution.

Women on the Finovate Stage

Women on the Finovate Stage

IMG_0245

There are plenty of things about fintech worth celebrating, but today, in honor of International Women’s Day, we’re giving three cheers to the women in fintech!

We’re taking a special look at our most recent show, FinovateEurope, where 23% of the presenting companies were represented by a woman on stage. That’s a 50% increase from 2015, where 15% of the companies had female speakers, and a huge leap from our first event in 2007 with zero (see note 1).

So here’s to progress. And here’s to the women of FinovateEurope:

Editor’s Note: While sadly it’s true that no women were on stage during the 20 demos of the first Finovate. One company, iPay Technologies, was founded by Dana Bowers, but she chose not to speak that day. And Finovate might not even exist if it wasn’t for Melanie Flanagan, then Marketing Manager at Yodlee (also co-founded by a woman), who was the first person to agree to demo. Finally, Susan Hawkins, then SVP at Metavante, was instrumental in getting both her company and Monitise on stage. So there you have it, woman called the shots for at least 20% of Finovate v1.0’s content, even if they ended up delegating the on-stage pitching to men. Thanks Melanie, Dana and Susan! — Jim Bruene, Founder

CREALOGIX Wins First Best of Show Award at FinovateEurope; Appoints New CEO

crealogix_homepage_February2017

February has been a big month for the innovators of Swiss digital banking leader, CREALOGIX. The company won its first Best of Show award at FinovateEurope last week, taking home top honors for its live demonstration of a virtual reality interface integrated into its digital banking hub. The technology is geared toward millennial and Generation Z customers, the company explained from the Finovate stage last week, to deliver a user experience that incorporates emotion, creativity, and logic into financial decision-making.

“Normally, online banking is a dry affair,” Head of Sales and CMO at CREALOGIX, Marc Stähli said. “Our technology, however, is an invitation to active discovery.” Beyond the immersion of the virtual reality experience, CREALOGIX Predictive Banking in Virtual Reality also features intelligent algorithms to calculate “what if” scenarios that can be explored in depth simply by following lines of vision and gesture.

CREALOGIX also has a new CEO. Thomas Schneider (pictured), who served as managing director for UBS in Zurich for more than 21 years, will take the helm of the company’s Swiss digital banking business. Schneider’s expertise includes implementing electronic customer systems and internal control systems. He has also served as a consultant for CREALOGIX, as well as for Accenture and via his own TSC Consulting firm. “Through my consulting work at CREALOGIX, I have been able to get to know the business unit and the tasks very well over the past few years and am now looking forward to my new operational role,” Schneider said in a statement. Schneider was educated at Albert Ludwigs Universitat Freiburg, and has a Ph.D from the University of Freiburg.

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, CREALOGIX demonstrated its Digital Banking Hub / Predictive Banking in Virtual Reality technology at FinovateEurope, winning Best of Show. A Finovate alum since 2011, CREALOGIX named Phillipe Wirth as CFO in January. Wirth, former head of finance and controlling at subsidiaries of Mettler Toledo Group in Switzerland and the U.S., will join the company officially in May.
