First Quarter 2012 Funding for Finovate Alumni, $150 Million Raised

Since we are nearing the end of the first quarter, we wanted to look back at all of the Finovate alums who have raised funding over the past few months.

Here’s the month-by-month breakdown:

January — $25 million raised by 3 companies

February — $57 million raised by 5 companies
March — $68 million raised by 3 companies

Note: Funding that companies received before they demonstrated at Finovate was not counted. If you see any funding that is not on this list, please send the name of the company along with a link to the funding information to julie@netbanker.com and I will add it.

Currensee Expands Into Latin American Region with Spanish Website

Alternative investment platform, Currensee, announced yesterday that it will expand into the Latin American region and U.S.-based Latino market by launching its platform in Spanish.

Dave Lemont, Currensee CEO, also mentioned a pending launch of the website in Portuguese to fill increasing demand for the alternative investment platform.

The release revealed a few facts:

    • Over 1,000 investor accounts opened
    • Over $30 million in assets reported since its start
    • $20 billion is traded via Trade Leaders Program

Currensee Receives Additional $2 Million in Series C Financing

CurrenseeLogo.jpgMass High Tech reported yesterday that currency trading platform, Currensee, added $2 million to its last financing round:

“The Series C financing started in April 2011 with $4 million from North Bridge Venture Partners, Egan-Managed Capital and Vernon & Park Capital LP. The new tranche of the round, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, saw the number of investors climb from four to five, although they are not named.”

This new addition brings Currensee’s total funding to $14.8 million.

Currensee Launches Trade Leaders Program for Institutional Clients

Currensee.jpgLast week, currency trading platform Currensee announced the launch of its Trade Leaders Investment Program for institutional clients:

“The new service enables hedge funds, money managers, family offices and other asset gatherers to tap into the USD4 trillion daily Forex market by leveraging the elite Currensee network of Trade Leaders.”

It also instituted the Currency Risk Management Control Center to assist investors with controlling risk.
