The Payment Gateway made way for a wave of API innovation by providing accessibility and opportunity for anyone to become a merchant online. Now, Marqeta is bringing API innovation to the issuing side of payments through Just in Time “JIT” Funding, enabling commerce innovators to be part of the authorization stream of their payment card transactions in real time.

Modo Digital Payments Hub

Learn how to build brand spanking new digital payments experiences that connect to not so new (and please don’t spank them) existing payments systems using Modo’s Digital Payments Hub.

Using Modo, you can securely request money to move between any two payments systems, without anyone having to share the details of their identity or their payment credentials with someone else (besides your new best friends at Modo). No (new) accounts needed.

The Modo Digital Payments Hub is an awesome technology to design and manage the full lifecycle of digital payment transactions across the global payments ecosystem. Oh, and it’s COIN® operated. The Modo Digital Payments Hub is made up of four components: Payments System Connectors, Payments Transactions, Credentials Vault, and Digital Experiences.

What You’ll Learn

  • It’s easy to securely request money to move between any existing payments system connected to Modo. You can do it from any digital experience.
  • New digital payments experiences need to use existing payments systems for scale, ease of adoption, and regulatory requirements. Don’t re-invent the bank (banks don’t like that).
  • COIN® Operated is the new Orange (which is the new Black).

Presentation

NuDetect™ Demo – It’s All About Trust

In this presentation, we’ll demonstrate our flagship product NuDetect™ – a behavioral biometrics platform that monitors behavioral interactions. The platform accurately verifies users based on unconscious natural behaviors. It can detect most forms of account-based automated, anomalous, and fraudulent online behavior.

NuDetect™ builds upon an architecture of four distinct technologies: device, connection and location; behavioral analytics; real-time entity linking; and behavioral biometric identification, to build a user profile. This profile is used to provide a continuous and near-perfect identification of the user, in real-time. Behavioral biometrics empower banks and FIs to provide a balance between real security and great customer experience. NuData typically supports new account creation, account takeover, and automation use cases.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to verify legitimate known users. Identify the real user based on behavioral analytics and biometric signals such as typing cadence, the angle a device is held, or device ID.
  • How best to identify higher risk activities. Analyze user behavior from the first visit to the moment they leave in order to recognize when their behavior abnormally deviates.
  • How to leverage an extensive behavioral network. Recognize behavior patterns and link underlying relationships across the network to better understand what behaviors to trust.

Presentation

Data Driven Account Opening

We are sharing a new way of opening investment accounts. Our app and dashboard allow users to link any financial account (from a credit card to a student loan, 401k, or mortgage), and we apply heuristic and machine learning techniques to increase the quality of aggregated data so users and their advisors can see all accounts and data in one place.

Because we enabled both the user and his/her advisor to see the same holistic financial picture, we transformed the traditional “opening and funding of an account” transaction into a natural conversation about the best way to implement a financial plan, including better portfolio and tax strategies, by moving money from a held away account to an on-us account. We use rich personal financial data to make account opening as seamless as possible.

What You’ll Learn

  • As a user, I want the system to use my aggregated financial data to create an actionable financial plan.
  • As a user, I want the system to leverage all of the financial information it has about me and my behavior to make the account opening seamless and collaborative.
  • As a product manager, I want the account opening forms to have personality and be organized in bite-sized conversations to keep users engaged.

Blockchain Proof of Value in Trade Finance Applications of blockchain technology can positively transform business processes where current state pain points exist between multiple market participants. For example, improving the business process of Trade Finance operations to support the movement of services, goods and capital, specifically for Standby Letter of Credit, could represent a paradigm shift to market participants. To validate this hypothesis, we conducted a blockchain-based Proof of Value (“PoV”) for SBLC with a technology partner. What You’ll Learn

  • The SBLC use case provides the foundational framework to scale toward more complex Trade Finance use cases and financial instruments.
  • Blockchain is not appropriate to solve every business problem. Choose the right tool for the job.
  • Our SBLC smart contract helps to promote cloud as a catalyst for facilitating immutable and secure data sharing, viewing, and process execution amongst multiple participants.

FinovateFall 2016 – MX

FinovateFall 2016 – MX

How they describe themselves: MX exists to make millions of citizens financially stronger. We build software that’s engaging, powerful, secure, but easy to use. Our products generate data for better banking. More specifically, we’re the leader in APIs, data acquisition, data cleansing, and data visualization — all built to make finances as they should be. Together with our clients and partners, we’re building the future of banking.

How they describe their product/innovation: Financial institutions know they’re sitting on a gold mine of data, but they’re not sure how to use it. The data is siloed in different departments, it’s too difficult to access, and it’s not available in anything that resembles real-time. In addition, it often takes a team with PhDs to figure out what all the data means. At this year’s Finovate, MX will present innovative ways for financial institutions to acquire new data and effortlessly analyze the data they already have. MX will also show how to use the data more intelligently, resulting in heightened profitability.
