SecondMarket and CircleUp Form Partnership

SecondMarket, a secondary trading market for pre-IPO companies, announced today that it has partnered with CircleUp, an equity-based crowdfunding platform.

PandoDaily reported today that New York-based SecondMarket will cross-list companies raising funding on the CircleUp platform. This gives SecondMarket users the ability to invest in the equity of early-stage companies. So far, five companies have completed funding rounds on the CircleUp platform.

This news comes three weeks after SecondMarket’s announcement of a similar partnership with AngelList.

SecondMarket demonstrated at FinovateStartup 2009.

Planwise and ReadyForZero Partner to Promote Debt Management as Part of Personal Finances

PFM platform, planwise and debt management solution, ReadyForZero announced a partnership today.

As a part of the partnership, planwise is featuring ReadyForZero in its Products section (see screenshot below).

ReadyForZero’s services are advertised to planwise users who indicate they hold debt. When I tested the product this morning, the ReadyForZero product option was offered only when I indicated I owed a balance on a loan or credit card.

The two San Francisco-based startups have not disclosed the terms of the partnership.

Cachet Financial Solutions to Power Tyfone’s Remote Deposit Capture Offering

Remote deposit capture solutions company, Cachet Financial Solutions announced today that it has partnered with mobile banking expert, Tyfone.

Through this partnership, Cachet’s remote deposit capture (RDC) solution, which uses Mitek’s technology to format check images, willThumbnail image for tyfone.jpg enable Tyfone to provide RDC services for its FI customers.

Midwest-based CoVantage Credit Union is the first to implement this solution, allowing its members to remotely deposit funds into their accounts.

PlayMoolah Launches Moolah It, a New iOS App

InComm Acquires Digital Gift Card Company, Giftango

Today, prepaid product company InComm announced it has acquired digital gift solutions company, Giftango.

This is expected to expand InComm’s reach into the digital gift card industry, giving it access to Giftango’s relationships with more than 150 brands and network of more than 80 partners.

Giftango, which was acquired for undisclosed terms, will become a subsidiary of InComm and will continue its operations in Portland, Oregon.

Emida to Provide Mobile Payment Services in Myanmar

Prepaid mobile wallet provider Emida announced today that it has signed an agreement to provide prepaid services in Myanmar.

As a part of the agreement, the prepaid network has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the following parties:

    • Blue Ocean Operating Management (BOOM)
    • Myanmar Technologies Investment Corporation (MTI)
    • Oceanic Communications Ltd (OCL)

Emida is now operating in 37 countries scattered throughout the globe, supporting a network of more than 54,000 retailers and seeing annual payments of over $1.5 billion.

Dwolla Makes it Easy to Pay for School Lunches Online

Alternative payment system Dwolla announced on Friday it has partnered with a school district in Iowa to enable online payments for school lunches.

After signing up for Dwolla, parents and guardians withDwollaSchoolLunch2.jpgchildren attending Iowa schools in the Beaman, Conrad, Liscomb, Union, and Whitten (BCLUW) district can pay for lunches online on a weekly, bimonthly, or monthly basis.

There is no transaction cost for parents, and because Dwolla only charges 25 cents for payments over $10, it can save schools a significant amount of money on credit and debit card fees.

According to the blog post, Dwolla is seeking additional partnerships with school districts.

Monitise Appoints Brad Petzer as New CFO, Executive Director

Mobile banking solutions company, Monitise, announced the appointment of a new CFO and Executive Director today.

The company has selected Brad Petzer (pictured) to replace John Brougham after his MonitisePetzer.jpgretirement in October of last year. Petzer will take up the position of CFO in April of 2013.

Prior to accepting the role as CFO, Petzer served as Group Financial Controller at Europe-based Telecity Group.

Clover Raises $3.3 Million From Undisclosed Investors

Last month, point of sale payment system, Clover, filed an SEC form indicating it raised $3.3 million for its cloud-based POS system. VentureBeat first picked up the story on Thursday.

The investors in this round have not yet been disclosed.

This new round, combined with last March’s installment of $5.8 million from Andreessen Horowitz and Sutter Hill Ventures, brings the California-based company’s total funding up to almost $10 million.

Tuition.io Exits Private Beta, Aims to Make Student Loan Management Easier

Student loan repayment platform, Tuition.io, launched to the public today.

During a four month private beta period, the

SantaMonica-based startup helped 1,500 users from more than 130 different universities manage a combined $100 million in debt from 10,000 student loans.

Along with the public beta, Tuition.io introduced EasyOptimize, a feature that suggests products to help users pay off their loans faster.

It also announced two partners to help build an audience for the platform:

    • Student Veterans of America
    • OurTime.org

According to PandoDaily, additional high-profile partnerships are in the works.
