Discover Financial Services LLC, is issuing signature debit cards for both individuals and corporations. This follows on the heels of Discover’s agreeing to drop its “no surcharge rule” with merchants who are suing it as part of the interchange-related class action suits being fought in Brooklyn federal court. The move in court basically leaves MasterCard and Visa fighting the interchange suits alone. Separately, Discover signed a deal with BAC International Bank Inc.’s Credomatic International Corp. unit to get Credomatic’s 65,000-plus merchants in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama to honor the Discover Card. Dynamic Card Solutions says that $216 million Alabama Credit Union will be using DCS’ instant issue card system to issue debit cards throughout that state. The credit union had been using the product in a few large markets in that state. (Contact: Dynamic Card Solutions, 303-752-3552)
