LapterPassword management platform Dashlane hired a new CFO, David Lapter (pictured). Lapter began his career at a strategy firm, then worked as an associate at Upfront Ventures. He has served the role of CFO for multiple companies, including Fab.com and Makerspace.

Last month, Dashlane partnered with Yubico to become the first password manager to support the FIDO Alliance’s Universal Second Factor for two-factor authentication.

Earlier this year, the New York-based company completely revamped its platform to offer a more organized and consistent look-and-feel across multiple channels. In addition to those updates, Dashlane added international support, making it available in seven languages.

Dashlane made its international debut at FinovateEurope 2013. Emmanuel Schalit is CEO.

Password manager and digital wallet startup Dashlane launched a completely redesigned platform this week.

Dashlane offers a freemium password manager that automatically logs in to your accounts with a single password. It also provides one-click autofill for web and mobile forms, and a digital wallet that saves payment information and receipts.

Here’s the new look, a consistent user experience across all platforms and operating systems.

The redesign also makes it easier to see passwords, notes, personal information, IDs and receipts by using a grid view, better labeling, and sorting capability.

While Dashlane already operates in 200 countries, it furthered its global ambitions by adding support for 600+ international banks to its payments options and is available in five more languages:

  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese

Dashlane made its international debut at FinovateEurope 2013.

Dashlane Integrates Samsung Biometric Technology in Android App Upgrade

Dashlane Integrates Samsung Biometric Technology in Android App Upgrade

Dashlane_homepage_Jul15

In integrating Samsung’s fingerprint biometric technology to its Android app, Dashlane’s password-management platform can now be used with all Samsung devices, including Galaxy S6 and S5, Note 4, and Note Edge.

Download the upgraded app here.

The decision to focus on the Android ecosystem was no accident. Dashlane’s platform has been iOS compatible since late May 2015, and company CEO Emmanuel Schalit said the company had been planning to focus on a version for Android users as soon as possible. “The adoption of biometric technology in the Android ecosystem is just the latest example of our aggressive product roadmap,” Schalit said. “We made a strategic decision, after closing our B round twelve months ago, to put as many resources into product development as possible.”

Dashlane_stage_FEU13

From left: Dashlane’s Nishant Mani, VP of partnerships and marketing, and CEO Emmanuel Schalit presented at FinovateEurope 2013 in London.

Interestingly, company CEO Schalit has written critically about the reliance on biometric technology, pointing out in a spring column that “unlike passwords, biometric data that has been stolen cannot be changed.” On the other hand, Anna Drennan, product marketing manager, this week suggested on the Dashlane blog that the combination of passwords and biometric authentication was a winning solution for Dashlane’s more than 2 million users.

Dashlane enables consumers to store passwords, credit cards, and digital wallets in one secure location. Logging in and accessing websites is faster and easier with Dashlane, and the technology can be used to make secure online payments while on the go. The platform is free to use, with a premium version available for $40 a year that adds cross-device syncing, secure cloud backup, and enhanced support.

Founded in 2009 by Bernard Liautaud, Dashlane has offices in both New York City, and Paris, France. The company has raised more than $30 million in funding, and includes Bessemer Venture Partners, FirstMark Capital, and Rho Ventures, among its investors. Dashlane demonstrated its password-management platform at FinovateEurope 2013 in London.

Dashlane Launches Password Management for Teams

DashlaneLogo.jpg

Password management platform Dashlane recently released an update that will give organizations more control over accounts that need to be shared across team members.

The New York-based company’s latest release will include three major upgrades:

1) Sharing Center, a dashboard that displays all of a user’s accounts synched with Dashlane. It enables them to share the passwords with others, automatically informing all users when a shared password changes.
From the Sharing Center, users can also manage access levels, giving others full rights or limited rights to the password.
2) Emergency Contacts gives users the ability to provide a trusted emergency contact with access to select accounts in case of emergency.
3) View Password History gives users a comprehensive view of all of the passwords they have previously held in Dashlane.

In addition to the new sharing functionality, it is also releasing an upgrade to its user interface.

Dashlane was founded in 2009. At FinovateEurope 2013 it demoed how its online and mobile interfaces make online transactions easier and faster.
